Ward creates rich, emotionally resonant figurative art using a hybrid approach that includes digital drawing, painting, and the use of gold and silver foils. Blurring the lines between pixels, paint, and algorithm, she shapes unique images that delve deep into the minds and hearts of her subjects.

Working with a lush color palette, the artist offers archival prints on aluminum, each hand-finished using acrylics, oils, and pastels. The dreamy, vibrant result is alchemic and graceful. Ward manifests poignant, vivid portraits that speak powerfully to the inner depths of her subjects’ spirits while inviting viewers to partake in an intimate and profound dialogue with her subjects. Her passion for color, texture, and movement meshes with a fusion of digital and analog techniques that push beyond conventional artistic boundaries.

Ward’s robust intersection of mediums results in hauntingly lovely works, whose delicacy and depth shape a profound, light-filled grace, one which encourages exploration and transformation within subject and viewer alike. Her images form compelling visual narratives based on contemporary female identities that express emotions ranging from loss and grief to comfort and contemplation.

For the Tokyo exhibition, she will be showing three of her mixed-media works: Taisha, Jesslyn, and Pantsuit Nation, each depicting a compelling female subject in nuanced rainbow shades.

The artist’s fluid and lustrous works will be showcased among those of 57 visual artists from the United States, including images from iconic artists Jackson Pollock and Prince Yisehak Fikre Sellassie. Ward considers it an honor to be included in a “celebration of diversity, cultural specificity, and individual expression of the human condition.” Her own work serves as an intrinsic part of this celebration.

A professor of art and design at Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria, California, Ward received her Master of Arts with Distinction in Digital Fine Art from the University of the Arts London in 2018. Her hybrid portraiture work has been featured globally in numerous exhibitions; her experimental video Aura won an award at the 13th Concorso d’Arte Donne in Rinascita in Milan, Italy, in March of this year.

The exhibition will be held at: Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, 1F Citizens Gallery 3, 8-36 Ueno Park, Taito-ku, Tokyo 110-0007, Japan, from June 15-20. For more information about Ward and her artwork, visit NancyJoWard.com

Michael Gregorjev Murn had a vision – an exhibition that not only revealed his latest masterpieces but also connected art enthusiasts with one another. The challenge was immense; Michael needed a venue that could do justice to his work, an audience that could appreciate the depth of his art, and an event that would leave a lasting impression.

The first step in this journey was finding the perfect gallery. The Miart Gallery London, owned and led by Ms. Irem Deniz, was an ideal choice. Renowned for its contemporary and modern art, the gallery is nestled in the heart of Mayfair and provides the perfect backdrop for Murn’s powerful pieces.

The gallery’s reputation added an air of significance to the event, making it an attractive destination for art lovers and collectors alike. With the venue secured, the next challenge was to ensure the exhibition’s launch would be unforgettable.

That followed the planning of a two-part launch: a VIP Preview on May 9 and a Grand Opening on May 10. This dual approach allowed for an exclusive initial viewing, ensuring a private ambiance.

May 9 arrived, and the VIP Preview unfolded flawlessly. Collectors, gallerists, and art enthusiasts gathered in the elegant setting, mingling and discussing the display. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as some of the attendees debated their favorites, marking the official opening of ‘ECHOES.’

A slightly different atmosphere followed on May 10, when the Grand Opening opened its doors to a variety of attendees, including members of the British-Slovenian Centre of Commerce, Dr. Aleš Musar, spouse of the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Mr. Miha Mermal, CMO of BTC, d. d., the General Partner of MGM Exhibitions, along with members of the Rotary Club of London and the House of Lords.

The event was more than just an exhibition; it was a cultural convergence. Dr. Musar, renowned for his support of culture and the arts, delivered an inspiring and light-hearted speech that set the tone for the evening. Murn’s own words resonated with the audience, drawing them into the vision behind his projects.

After the official speech, a symbolic ribbon-cutting and a saxophone performance marked the official opening of ‘ECHOES.’ Adding a personal touch, Murn signed monographs for attendees, creating memories and deeper connections with his audience.

The launch wasn’t just a celebration of a successful artist, but also a tactful entrepreneurship. Murn’s ability to blend creativity with business highlighted his dual role as an artist and visionary leader. The exhibition, running until June 16, 2024, offers visitors a chance to immerse themselves in his world of ideas, state of mind, and stories.
