Vũ’s Collection Explores the Play of Light and Shadow in Our Everyday Lives
Vũ Đình Đĩnh, a renowned Vietnamese artist residing in Hanoi, will debut his latest collection, “Thánh Địa,” on April 14th, 2024. The exhibition will take place at 90 Tô Ngọc Vân, Quảng An, Tây Hồ, Hà Nội.
“Thánh Địa,” translating to “sanctuary” in Vietnamese, carries a profound duality, encapsulating not only tranquility but also haunting echoes. It evokes the essence of a burial ground, known as “bãi tha ma,” a realm of ghosts.
Within this exhibition, Vũ Đình Đĩnh delves into both interpretations, exploring the elements that bring him solace alongside those that haunt him. Visitors are invited to navigate through the specters of his past, witnessing the delicate equilibrium that offers him reprieve.

Drawing inspiration from the depths of the night, the undulating waves of the ocean, and the luminescence of the natural world, Vũ Đình Đĩnh beckons attendees on a journey through the seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Vũ Đình Đĩnh, a versatile artist hailing from Hà Nội, Vietnam, is renowned for his monumental sculptures commissioned by the government throughout Vietnam and his restoration work at the Chùa Trăm Gian temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Each collection crafted by Vũ Đình Đĩnh represents distinct chapters and pivotal moments of his life, employing diverse techniques to articulate these experiences.
